About Lindsay

§
Portrait of Lindsay Richards

Lindsay Richards has tried more criminal cases than she can count. As a former Assistant District Attorney in Travis, Williamson, and Fort Bend Counties, she prosecuted homicides, sexual assaults, DWI cases, and strangulation cases at the felony level. She was assigned to the family violence and sexual assault units in Travis County. She later took a grant funded position in Williamson County to help build the sexual assault unit, where she tried many of the most complex adult sexual assault cases the office handled.

Today, Lindsay brings that institutional knowledge to the other side of the courtroom as a Texas criminal defense attorney. Her experience as a prosecutor in three counties gives her a perspective most defense attorneys never have. She knows how the State builds cases, where evidence is weakest, and how prosecutors think under pressure.

Lindsay is increasingly sought by media for commentary on Texas criminal cases. Her dual perspective makes her one of the few voices who can speak with authority on sexual assault, family violence, and DWI cases from both sides of the courtroom.
